Beauty Box 5 July 2013 Review

This is my first month with Beauty Box 5. The box is only $12 so I figured I would check it out. Beauty box 5 sends you 4-5 beauty products in a cute little blue box.

The cute product card was included with the box:

Here’s what I got in my box:

LA Fresh Travel Lite Antibacterial Wipes– $1.99 retail value // I can never have enough hand sanitizer. I have a little boy that will be 4 in September and these are perfect for carrying around in my purse.

Every Beauty Foot Smoother – $9 retail value // I don’t have anything like this in my hoard of beauty products. I’m excited to try this!

H20+ Face Oasis Hydrating Treatment – 8 ml retail value $5.70 // I’m excited to try this, I love getting new skincare items in my boxes.nailpolishremover

Jean Piette Cosmetics Nail Polish Remover Wipes – (2) retail value $1 // I love having nail polish wipes in my beauty bag in my purse because you never know when you’re going to need these!

Be a Bombshell Lip Gloss in Vixen -retail value $14// this was full-size, but I didn’t like the color too much, it looks a lot darker in person. I’ll be giving this away to a friend.

I liked this box, but I wouldn’t say this is one of my favorite subscription boxes though. I spent $12 on this box and the value of the box was $31.00 I like the idea of the box and also the price is good. I think I’m going to give it another month to see what next month brings! If you want to check out it out go to Beautybox5.com

House of Gemmes Membership

If you’re obsessed or addicted to accessories and jewelry like I am, this is the perfect box for you! I’m so excited to show you what I got in my box! The lovely ladies at House of Gemmes collaborated with me so I could show you their  jewelry membership! They sent this box for free in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are always my own. I really felt like this box was totally me! I did not pick out any of the items in the box and they were a complete surprise!

The theme of this box was “Too Mod Too Handle” from their Mod collection.

Hoot earrings$24 retail value
I love owls, I’m actually obsessed with them. These are probably my favorite thing in the box! You can also buy these at HouseofGemmes.com (available in three colors: Coral, Black, or Sunshine)

Mod Floral Necklace $36 retail value
At first when I looked at the necklace, I didn’t love it. When I put it on, that all changed! I love the light pink, coral, pearl and gold hues of this necklace! I have an obsession with statement necklaces, and I think this will go nicely with my summer wardrobe! It’s definitely modern and makes a statement! You can also buy this necklace at HouseofGemmes.com

Gold bracelet – $28 retail value
This was from the Kristen Hassan collection. Kristen is the founder of House of Gemmes! I’m not sure if it’s still available, but it’s simply beautiful! It has a hinge so it fits perfectly. This is something that you can dress up or down and you could definitely wear this every day.

Square Cocktail Ring $16 value
I love white and gold together. I think they’re a match made in heaven! This ring also has a band that stretches! I’m not much of a ring girl, but I do love this! It goes with everything! I’m thinking about pairing this with a Little black dress, I think that it will be a classic and sophisticated combo. I will be wearing this ring the next time I go out and I will be posting some pictures on Instagram when I do!

My box was Valued at $104! That’s almost the cost of a year subscription!

The House of Gemmes is a quarterly subscription service. It is a one-time fee of $149 and you get a box every season. By the end of your one year membership, you will have received an estimated total value of over $300 worth of necklaces, bracelets, rings and earrings! The best part about it is that it’s yours to keep! (Unlike some jewelry subscription boxes out there) If you break that down it’s only a little over $37 per box. You can go to Houseofgemmes.com to signup!

Also with the membership you get a personal code for 20% every time you shop at House of Gemmes online store.

The next delivery is 9/15/13, you should order by 9/14/13 to get the next box

I can’t wait to style my new pieces from House of Gemmes! Absolutely loved everything! Everything that I received was made really good. I was also thinking about getting this Leaf Pendant Necklace.  If you’re thinking about ordering anything from the website you can also get $15 off your first purchase! The customer service at House of Gemmes was amazing! The experience made me feel like I was a V.I.P. or close friend. I highly recommend trying out the membership.

Pawalla pet subscription box

I’m so excited to tell you guys about the Pawalla subscription box for cats and dogs! I was researching some different monthly pet subscription services and most of them only cater to dogs, which is unfair because my cat absolutely loved getting a box in the mail! Pawalla sent me their box to review in exchange for an honest review. All opinions on East Coast Glamm are always 100% honest and my own, as the writer of this blog.

Here’s a little information on Pawalla that I got from their website:

Pawalla is monthly subscription service for both cats and dogs. Each month you’ll receive a new Pawalla box featuring treats, supplements and more that is hand-picked by Pawalla’s pet nutritionist based on the size and age of your pet. There are two box options deluxe and mini.

The deluxe includes wet food 7-9 full-size products, Wet food, treats, supplements or vitamins, essentials, and a toy. Deluxe box is $30 with free shipping!

The mini box is 4-5 premium full-size products and includes a treat, toy, and surprise item(s) – No wet food included. The mini box is $20.

If you absolutely love anything in your box, you can go onto the Pawalla website and order it right there!

You can go to Pawalla.com to order your own box!

We got the mini box and loved it! If your pet eats wet food, I would definitely go with the deluxe box though!

Hi, my name is Jazz, and I took it upon myself to try and open my box. I’m sorry, that I got cardboard all over your floor. (Well actually, I’m not sorry.)

Jazz is a 20+ pound Maine Coon Cat and I rescued him about 2 years ago. Can you believe his previous owners were going to put him down for a urinary tract infection?! INSANE! What is wrong with people!!!? He’s the sweetest cat, I have never heard him hiss at anyone. He definitely deserved his own subscription box!

Jazz, knew that this Pawalla box was for him. I don’t know if  he smelled the products in the box, but he went crazy! Rubbing up against me, following me while meowing at me- pleading for me to open the box. I had just gotten home from working out, so I wanted to take a shower – the heat index was 105 today! If you add the insane humidity and the week long heat wave, I was a hot mess. I put the box on the sofa and I took my shower, got dressed and went into the living room and found Jazz, trying to eat his way through the box! The box was now on the floor and he was still trying to chew his way into the box with me standing there.

Here’s a look at what was in his box :

I had to take this picture after we had looked at everything. He was too excited about me opening the box to get an actual picture of how everything came in the box.

As soon as I opened the box, he ran off with the cat nip in his mouth. I had to run after him and make sure I got it before he ripped it open all over the floor. It was like Christmas morning for him!
catHe had a lot of fun inspecting everything in the box and was going through the box so fast that I could barely keep up with him.
ice pups

*Honest Kitchen – Ice Pups ($13.99 for 16 packets)

the description from the Pawalla.com:

Ice pups™ are make-at-home grain free treats for dogs and cats. These treats are great for summer and can be served as a chilled refreshing beverage, or freezon the liquid in ice cube trays to make a healthy, puppy-sorbet!

I love that they this included packet to sample! I don’t think Jazz will go for it, but it’ll be perfect for my mom’s Golden Retriever, Charlie! It’s hot outside and I love the idea for the frozen treat!

Categories – Wobble Winder $5.99 retail value

Here’s the description on Pawalla.com :

The Wobble Winder cat toy doesn’t need any batteries! Simply wind up the bottom of the toy, place on the ground and watch it wobble! The bright feathers swing and sway as the toy spins and wobbles, the egg shape allows for maximum movement. For cats of all ages.

As you can tell by the slobber on the feathers, I could barely get this out of the plastic. He really loves this! You wind up the bottom and it wobbles all over the place. He’s still playing with it!

West Paw Design – Catnip Leaf $3 retail value

Here’s the description on Pawalla.com :

The catnip will stay fresh and fragrant, keeping your cat entertained day after day! Rub a healthy pinch full between your fingers to release the aroma and sprinkle on a plate, scratching post, or even on their food. Catnip aids in digestion, is harmless and non-addictive.

This was his favorite thing in the box! The description card said that cat nip is good for the cat’s digestive system, and I didn’t know that! He loves cat nip and we are having a lot of fun with this!
*Superior Farms Pet ProvisionsLamb Tweets $7.99 retail value

Here’s the description on Pawalla.com :

Lamb Tweets are made of 100% all-natural lamb lung, with a crunchy texture perfect for cats. There are no artificial or added ingredients, just 100% pure lamb. Lamb Tweets are diced and can be broken into smaller pieces for cats who prefer bite-sized treats.

I don’t know why this grosses me out. I didn’t read the description card before I gave him one. They’re lungs from a lamb!. They’re all-natural, but it makes me kind of queasy. Jazz didn’t like these, but I know my mom’s cat will love these!

I Love Catz – Sisal Rattle Football Cat Toy

Here’s the description on Pawalla.com:

This fun football shaped toy is made of durable sisal rope that is perfect for scratching. It also rattles when your cat bats it around, so you’ll always know where they both are –just follow the rattles!

He played with this for about 2 minutes. He likes the toy with the feathers better. He bats at it occasionally, but wasn’t as interested in this one.

He had to make sure that nothing was left in the box. He’s too big to fit in the box, but in true cat fashion, he did try to fit himself entirely in the box.

Jazz is a big part of my family! I can’t wait to get him another Pawalla subscription box. He absolutely loved it! I love that Pawalla is for cats and dogs. Most pet subscription boxes cater for dogs, but as you can see my cat absolutely loved it!

Have you tried any pet subscription boxes? What did you think of Pawalla?

Panty fly monthly subscription

I usually buy panties at Victoria’s secret or Aerie because they always have a deal like 5 for $25 or etc. I’m always drawn to those sales! When I found out that there were panty subscription services, I’m not going to lie, I was curious and excited! They seriously have subscription boxes for almost everything and I love it! Panty fly sent me 5 pairs of panties for free in exchange for a review.

Panty Fly has different subscription services to fit your needs and they are a lot more affordable than the 5 for $25 that are at the mall. The subscription service starts at only $9 and the most expensive monthly package is $12.
Here’s a list of the available packages:
1. Barely There Underwear Package (3 Panties monthly / $9) – thongs, and string bikini styles.
2. Sleek and Sexy Underwear Package (3 Panties Monthly / $9) – bikini, hi cut, hipster, and modern brief.
3. Mixing It Up Underwear Package (3 Panties Monthly $9) A mix of the Sleek and sexy and the Barely there packages.
4. 2 for 2 Underwear Membership– (2 for her, 2 for him Monthly /$12) – I’m not sure if they’restill offering this as an option or not. I did not see it on the Panty Fly website, but I know that it was on there when I was looking on there about a week or two ago. You pick out 2 pairs and your significant other can pick out 2 pairs.

If I had to choose any of the packages, I think I would lean more towards the “Barely There” Package.

Here’s what I received:
*All of the panties that were sent to me were from the brand “Steve” I have never heard of this brand and could not find anything about them online. Panty Fly works with different brands.

I really liked these, both pairs were really comfy and they weren’t peeking out of my jeans which I appreciated.

These were my favorite! I like thongs, but I love anything with lace! These fit really nice and they were really comfy. They were low enough that they didn’t peek out of my jeans.

stripes pink
I wasn’t a fan of these to be honest. It’s not really my style, they were a little big.

I liked the design of these but not really the full coverage. They were comfy though and they’re growing on me.

Overall, I liked the variety of products I was sent. I would’ve liked to see some other brands other than one that was included. I’ll be looking at some other panty/lingerie services to compare and see if I would want to pay monthly for a subscription service like this.
If you want to check out Panty fly you can go to Pantyfly.com. I think that $9 is a realistic price to pay for 3 pairs of undies. I do like to pick out my own panties, but for $9 this was a great deal!

The package was 100% discrete and the address said “Pfly instead of Panty Fly. Inside of the package was a brown bag with all of the panties in it.

Would you subscribe to a monthly panty service? What did you think of Panty fly?

Birchbox July 2013

I was really excited to get my Birchbox in the mail this month! It arrived a lot before the estimated delivery date , which was unexpected and awesome! I’m just really late in getting my review up. I feel like my boxes have been really good the last three months and I hope the trend continues.

This month the theme was power play. Birchbox explains the July a lot better:

“The height of summer is the perfect chance to pull off a power play. You know—one of those days when you dominate your to-do list without breaking a sweat. This month, we’re stocking up on star products that let us squeeze the most out of every minute. We even got the stylish cast of one of our favorite TV series, USA Network’s SUITS, to weigh in. These products are perfect for work, play, and all the moments in between.”

Here’s what I got in my Birchbox:

theBalm® cosmetics InStain® Long-Wearing Powder Staining Blush in the color Swiss dot ($22 for full size)- I was excited about trying out this product.  It’s buildable and a little goes a long way. It’s also supposed to stand up to the heat and humidity. I love the way The Balm packages their samples.

Benefit it’s potent! eye cream- ($32 for full size) This is my favorite sample that was included with my Birchbox. I don’t get a lot of sleep and this eye cream went to right to work!! I noticed that my eyes weren’t as puffy and they looked brighter. I will be buy a full size of this product. There’s also no fragrance and the cream is really firm and soaks into the skin fast. This is definitely a power player!

DDF® Acne Control Treatment – ($44 for full size 1.7 fl. oz.) I love this! Now that I’m almost 25, I think it’s ridiculous that I’m starting to break out again. It makes me really sad. I feel like a teenager again 😦 Changing my eating habits has helped a bunch and also drinking more water. I Love that this product was included in the box. I have already used it and it works great! It completely dried up an awkward blemish I had on my chest.

Number 4 Super Comb Prep & Protect– ($32 for full size) My hair is a hot mess lately. I will definitely use this because it’s supposed to hydrate my hair, and doubles as a color protector and UV shield. The smell is also really nice, not too floral, it smells really fresh.

Birchbox hair pins -($5 for 6 pins) Aren’t these adorable? They’re a little big, and I tried using these and they look ridiculous on me. I will be giving these away to my sister.

I absolutely loved my box this month. I pay $10 a month and this was a great value for me. After redoing my beauty profile a couple of times and putting what I did not want (i.e. perfume samples) I finally have been getting a more personal Birchbox and I love it! Sure, the samples are on the smaller side, but they’re always working with some amazing companies every month! This month I was so excited to see Benefit’s “It’s Potent!” eye cream.

You can go to Birchbox.com to subscribe for only $10 a month. There is a wait list for the box, but I assure you it’s definitely worth the wait. Make sure you review all of you items in your Birchbox for points! you get 10 points per product that you review that was in your Birchbox. 10 points = $1  They really add up after just a few boxes.

What’d you get in your Birchbox this month?  Do you prefer Ipsy or Birchbox? I was thinking about trying Ispy out so let me know what you think!

Color Me Monthly July box

I was so excited when my first Color Me Monthly box arrived in the mail!

I was sent this box in an exchange for an honest review and my opinions about this product are 100% my own.

If you’re not familiar with Color Me Monthly, it’s a nail polish subscription box and you get one different nail polish every month! The best part is that it’s only $7! What I love about this box is that they send out nail polish colors that I might not actually pick up in the stores and gets me out of the habit of going for the same colors. I have a lot of blues, purples, and glitter topcoats honestly, and I don’t think I would’ve picked this color on my own!

&&  I’m really starting to get tired of my current nail subscription box Julep. Am I alone on this one, or is anyone else feeling disappointed with their boxes lately?

Here’s what I got in my box:

A full size nail polish in the color “Wicked Wasabi”

In the box was a cute product description card explaining a little bit about the nail polish and a place on the card where you can swatch the product. The card  also had a cute haiku about July’s pick:

“Delicate balance.

spicy, complex, and refined.

can you handle me “

The company is focused on the actually product and not charging you more for over the top packaging. Even though they don’t focus on the packaging, I thought it was cute and to the point.

I like that the nail polish is free of  toluene, formaldehyde/formaldehyde resin, and dibutyl phthalate (DBP). All of those things are really nasty toxic chemicals that should not be in anything you put on your body.

Color Me Monthly is also cruelty free and does not contain any animal products!

The cost of the box is $7 a month- you can also sign up for a 6 month subscription for $40 or a year for $75- making the price of the box a little less. You can sign up for a membership at Colormemonthly.com

I will definitely be subscribing to this box! The company is located in Maryland (not too far away from me!) and I thought the shipping was fast and that the customer service was amazing!

You can also check out Color Me Monthly on Facebook , Instagram, and Twitter!

What did you think about Color Me Monthly?
