Allure Beauty Box Fall Must-Haves Review

I’m going to start off with a confession. I set a timer on my cell phone to make sure I got one of these boxes! I tried to get one of the Summer boxes a few months ago and it had sold out 10 minutes before. I couldn’t let that happen this time! I went on at 12:01 and quickly ordered my box and my order number was in the 800s! Allure beauty box is a seasonal box that is first come, first serve type of box and these sell out quick! Usually around 10-20 minutes! Crazy right?!

The Fall box was filled with around $350 worth of beauty goodies and was only $39 + $10 s/h + $2-$3 tax. totally worth it!! Almost everything was full-sized and the box weighed over 10lbs! I love that the items included are items that I will actually use! Plus tried and true bestsellers from high-end to drugstore products! I was not expecting it to ship so fast!

Here’s a look at what was in the box:

1. Schick Hydro Silk Razor $6? //  This razor is AMAZZING! I usually use men’s razors but this was way better. It left my skin really smooth. I won’t be using any other razor and I’m so excited they have them at Sam’s club!

2. Skintimate Sensitive Skin Skin Therapy Moisturizing Shave Gel $3.79 // I’m happy they included this! It’s scent free and is pretty thick when I lathered it on my legs. Love it.

3.Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs Leg Makeup $12.99// I tried this and didn’t like this at all. It reminded me of an episode of south park  “It’s a jersey thing”. I put a little on my legs and it was really streaky and orange. I’m going to try to mix it with some lotion so it’s not so intense.

4. Sally Hansen Ouch-Relief Pre-Wax Strip Kit $8.99 // I’m happy to have this, I wouldn’t have bought this on my own, mainly because I’m a big baby when it comes to waxing and I would rather have someone else inflict the pain on me. I’m excited that these are ouch-relief though! Being a girl can be so painful sometimes!!

5.Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash $6.99 // I like Neutrogena and I know this is a classic, but I have months worth of face wash so this is going to my mom.

6. RoC Multi Correxion Eye Treatment $25 // I have used this twice a day since it came in the mail. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE. I have been stressed to the max lately! Work, toddler, etc… this might be my favorite thing in the box! I love this more than the Philosophy “hope in a tube” I was using before.

7.Redermic R Dermatological Anti-Aging Treatment Intensive $56.99 // I’m a sucker for eye creams and skin care in general. I am so excited to try this. This is supposed to help  correct fine lines, deep wrinkles, and premature sun damage. It also has caffeine in it!

8. Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion, Fragrance Free // $11.49 I like Cetaphil and I really like this lotion. It’s not my absolute favorite but I love that it doesn’t have a fragrance and it’s hydrating.

9. Neutrogena Rapid Wrinkle Repair Night Moisturizer $22 // This is supposed to correct dark spots in a week. I haven’t used it, but I’m glad they included this in the box.

10. Simple Hydrating Light Moisturizer $8.99 // This was my first time using something from Simple. I was shocked at how hydrating the lotion actually was. It made my skin feel so fresh and healthy! I will be picking up more from this brand.

11. Style Sign Magic Finish Brilliance Hairspray $17.99 //I have been using dry shampoo instead of hairspray this summer, but I tried it out and it didn’t leave my hair sticky or stiff. This will be great for the fall.

12.KMS California Hair Stay Anti-Humidity Seal $17.99 // Doesn’t smell bad, but not as good as my Bedhead “Headrush” shine spray . I have been using this after straightening my hair and every single time my hair stayed straight all day! Even in the east coast humidity! LOVE this! Where has this been all my life?!

13. Redken Satinwear 02 Ultimate Blow-Dry Lotion $18 // I adore Redken. This was very silky, smooth and added volume to my hair after blow drying it.

14. Global Keratin Serum $25 //This was apparently supposed to be oil, but I got serum. No complaints here, I’ve never used this brand but I love using stuff like this on the ends of my hair because

15. Redken All Soft Argan-6 Oil $30 // Redken all soft collection is one of my favorites and I love argan oil.

16. Triple Moisture Deep Recovery Hair Mask $6.99 // I used this once and it didn’t work as well as the Carol’s daughter, it was thick and made my hair soft though. I also like the smell of this over the other.

17. Carol’s Daughter Monoi Repairing Hair Mask $32 // I don’t like the smell of this at all. I have damage from coloring my hair and bleach from highlights. I did notice that the tangles disappeared when I was washing it out of my hair! I don’t think it was 96% repaired like it claimed. It worked really good, I just wish it didn’t have a strong floral scent.

18. Sally Hansen Salon Manicure Cuticle Eraser + Balm $6 // This cuticle balm as a light cucumber scent. It’s really moisturizing and I really like it! I will probably buy this again when I run out!

19. Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure $8 // All in one manicure ?! Sign me up! I’m all about saving time and I haven’t used this yet but I’m excited to try it. I love the color too!

20. Sation Nail Laquer in Wine-y Happy People $5 // This is a perfect fall color! Plus with football season starting this is perfect for me because I’m a Raven’s fan! Haven’t tried this yet, but I will be using it!

21. Sally Hansen Salon Effects Real Nail Polish Strips $13 // I don’t know how I feel about the pattern that I got. It kind of reminds me of gaudy curtains. I do love the salon effects nail strips though and have tried this before. They’re perfect when you don’t have time to wait for your nails to dry. I also love using them for an accent nail!

22. ROC retinol correxion sensitive night cream- $1 //  An added bonus to my box! I gave this to my mom because she also loves stuff like this.

23.Pixi Eye Bright Liner No. 1 – Nude $17.00 // This eyeliner is supposed to make your eyes look bigger. I have eyeliners like this one, and I don’t really use them as much as other eyeliners. This is my first Pixi product that I have owned, I’m not crazy about it and probably wouldn’t pay full price for it.

24. Revitalizing Lip Balm with Blueberry and Dark Chocolate $3.30 // I didn’t like the smell of this, I love blueberry anything and Burt’s Bees is a brand I frequently buy, but I will be giving this away.

This  was my first box and it was amazing! So worth setting a timer on the phone and writing it down on my calendar! I will be doing the same thing when the next box comes out! For only $52 I got over $350 worth of beauty goodies and I think this may be the best valued box that I have ever bought!

What did you think of the Allure fall must have box? Have you ordered one?

Glossybox July 2013

I feel like a horrible blogger lately, I have been sick and really couldn’t sit down and finish a blog post the last couple of days so I apologize. I have so many things coming up this week on the blog!

This is my third month with Glossybox, and I’m really loving it so far! This is always the last box that arrives in the month. Glossybox is a beauty subscription box that usually has 4-5 items in the box. It costs $21 but the value of the box is usually way more than the cost! You can check out my reviews Here & Here. I was really excited to open my box, I didn’t look at any spoilers this month so this box was 100% surprise (But probably because I forgot about it)!

Here’s what I got in July’s box:

Nails Inc Baker Street Nail Polish // Mini size Value $4 – Love the color of this polish! This is actually the first time I’ve tried the Nails Inc brand and I really like them! The color was completely opaque when I applied it to my nails. I really love this bright blue!

Figs & Rouge Cherry Blossom Tinted Lip Balm Tube // Full-size Value $9 -I am excited to use this! I will take lip balm over lipstick any day!

Nicka K New York ABSOLUTE! Make-up Cleansing Tissues //10 sheets Value $1.49 – I love when boxes include make-up wipes! It’s something practical that I use almost every day. Glossybox has featured this brand before, and I really like them!

Evologie Intensive Blemish Serum //I received something like this in my July Birchbox and I’m not complaining! I love getting stuff for acne because I’ve fallen victim to adult acne 😦

Bvlgari Shampoo & Shower Gel // 1 oz Value $6- I’m not sure if I love the scent of this, it’s ok, but not really my favorite.

Brazilian Blowout Acai Deep Conditioning Mask // 1 oz Value $5 – This smells good and I will definitely be using this on my poor dry & damaged hair.

I paid $21 for this box and I will use all of the items in the box! I was pleasantly surprised to see 6 items in my box! This box did not have an amazing value like some of the other boxes- but the face that I will use all of the products in this box makes it more valuable than most! FabFitFun VIP Summer Box

FabFitFun VIP Box is a new subscription box from Guiliana Rancic and FabFitFun. It’s a quarterly subscription box that is $49.99 every season. This is a review of the Summer Box. I’m just going to start off by saying that this review is WAY overdue. Apparently FabFitFun did not have my address in their system when they were shipping all of the boxes a couple weeks ago. I just got my box on Saturday July 27th, and was expecting it a few weeks ago. At least the customer service was really nice and emailed me to tell me what had happened.

Product description card:

Here’s what was in my FabFitFun VIP Box:

Yes to Cucumbers Soothing Hypoallergenic Facial Towelettes// Value $2.99
I have used these before and I love them! They’re really cool and refreshing!

Orly Nail Polish // Value $8.50
I love getting nail polish in my subscription boxes! My collection is growing steadily but I didn’t have anything from Orly.kind
Kind Bar Dark Chocolate Chili Almond // Value $1.50
I enjoy getting Kind Bars in my subscription boxes! This is something that I will never get tired of getting! Obsessed! I’m not a dark chocolate fan- but this was simply amazing!

Catalina Su Lip Gloss // Value $14
I have been getting a lot of lip gloss lately! Not complaining about this one bit though! I love this color and I think it’s flattering for any skin type. I love pink’s like this!

It Hair Care Surf Spray// Value $7
I currently use “Not Your Mothers” beach spray, but I’m excited to try something new! This is something I will definitely use! Plus, it smells so good!

Infinity Sun Glow on the Go Sunless Tanner (Travel Size) // Value $35
I stopped going to the tanning salon because I realized my health is more important than my love of  being tan. I was kind of addicted.  After reading in Cosmopoitan that going to the tanning bed increases your risk for melanoma 2% every time you go, I immediately stopped going ! I didn’t look like I belonged on jersey shore- but I loved it. I’m glad that they included this in the box, I’m always on the search for the right sunless tanner!

Evian Mineral Water Facial Spray //Value $12
I have always wanted to buy this but couldn’t justify spending $12 on water. This is supposed to be great for setting your makeup and refreshing your makeup throughout the day. Not something I would buy, but I am happy they put it in the box!

Purlisse Delicate Gentle Soy Milk Cleanser // Value $36
I’m interested in trying this Cleanser. I like that it’s natural and won’t strip your face of your natural oils.

 Ivory + Mason Sunglasses // Value $135
Really didn’t like these glasses… Luckily, Ivory + Mason will let you exchange your glasses for $10 and let you pick out a pair you would actually wear. I’m tempted on doing that! These don’t fit my face very well and I really don’t think I’d wear them.

I paid $49.95 for this box and it had the value of over $250!!!
Verdict: I loved almost everything in the box! The only thing I could’ve done without was the sunglasses. I’m excited to see what the Fall FabFitFun VIP box has to offer! Fall is definitely my favorite season by far! I Can’t wait to see what the next FabFitBox’s theme will be!

Beauty Box 5 July 2013 Review

This is my first month with Beauty Box 5. The box is only $12 so I figured I would check it out. Beauty box 5 sends you 4-5 beauty products in a cute little blue box.

The cute product card was included with the box:

Here’s what I got in my box:

LA Fresh Travel Lite Antibacterial Wipes– $1.99 retail value // I can never have enough hand sanitizer. I have a little boy that will be 4 in September and these are perfect for carrying around in my purse.

Every Beauty Foot Smoother – $9 retail value // I don’t have anything like this in my hoard of beauty products. I’m excited to try this!

H20+ Face Oasis Hydrating Treatment – 8 ml retail value $5.70 // I’m excited to try this, I love getting new skincare items in my boxes.nailpolishremover

Jean Piette Cosmetics Nail Polish Remover Wipes – (2) retail value $1 // I love having nail polish wipes in my beauty bag in my purse because you never know when you’re going to need these!

Be a Bombshell Lip Gloss in Vixen -retail value $14// this was full-size, but I didn’t like the color too much, it looks a lot darker in person. I’ll be giving this away to a friend.

I liked this box, but I wouldn’t say this is one of my favorite subscription boxes though. I spent $12 on this box and the value of the box was $31.00 I like the idea of the box and also the price is good. I think I’m going to give it another month to see what next month brings! If you want to check out it out go to Beautybox5.com

Birchbox July 2013

I was really excited to get my Birchbox in the mail this month! It arrived a lot before the estimated delivery date , which was unexpected and awesome! I’m just really late in getting my review up. I feel like my boxes have been really good the last three months and I hope the trend continues.

This month the theme was power play. Birchbox explains the July a lot better:

“The height of summer is the perfect chance to pull off a power play. You know—one of those days when you dominate your to-do list without breaking a sweat. This month, we’re stocking up on star products that let us squeeze the most out of every minute. We even got the stylish cast of one of our favorite TV series, USA Network’s SUITS, to weigh in. These products are perfect for work, play, and all the moments in between.”

Here’s what I got in my Birchbox:

theBalm® cosmetics InStain® Long-Wearing Powder Staining Blush in the color Swiss dot ($22 for full size)- I was excited about trying out this product.  It’s buildable and a little goes a long way. It’s also supposed to stand up to the heat and humidity. I love the way The Balm packages their samples.

Benefit it’s potent! eye cream- ($32 for full size) This is my favorite sample that was included with my Birchbox. I don’t get a lot of sleep and this eye cream went to right to work!! I noticed that my eyes weren’t as puffy and they looked brighter. I will be buy a full size of this product. There’s also no fragrance and the cream is really firm and soaks into the skin fast. This is definitely a power player!

DDF® Acne Control Treatment – ($44 for full size 1.7 fl. oz.) I love this! Now that I’m almost 25, I think it’s ridiculous that I’m starting to break out again. It makes me really sad. I feel like a teenager again 😦 Changing my eating habits has helped a bunch and also drinking more water. I Love that this product was included in the box. I have already used it and it works great! It completely dried up an awkward blemish I had on my chest.

Number 4 Super Comb Prep & Protect– ($32 for full size) My hair is a hot mess lately. I will definitely use this because it’s supposed to hydrate my hair, and doubles as a color protector and UV shield. The smell is also really nice, not too floral, it smells really fresh.

Birchbox hair pins -($5 for 6 pins) Aren’t these adorable? They’re a little big, and I tried using these and they look ridiculous on me. I will be giving these away to my sister.

I absolutely loved my box this month. I pay $10 a month and this was a great value for me. After redoing my beauty profile a couple of times and putting what I did not want (i.e. perfume samples) I finally have been getting a more personal Birchbox and I love it! Sure, the samples are on the smaller side, but they’re always working with some amazing companies every month! This month I was so excited to see Benefit’s “It’s Potent!” eye cream.

You can go to Birchbox.com to subscribe for only $10 a month. There is a wait list for the box, but I assure you it’s definitely worth the wait. Make sure you review all of you items in your Birchbox for points! you get 10 points per product that you review that was in your Birchbox. 10 points = $1  They really add up after just a few boxes.

What’d you get in your Birchbox this month?  Do you prefer Ipsy or Birchbox? I was thinking about trying Ispy out so let me know what you think!

Color Me Monthly July box

I was so excited when my first Color Me Monthly box arrived in the mail!

I was sent this box in an exchange for an honest review and my opinions about this product are 100% my own.

If you’re not familiar with Color Me Monthly, it’s a nail polish subscription box and you get one different nail polish every month! The best part is that it’s only $7! What I love about this box is that they send out nail polish colors that I might not actually pick up in the stores and gets me out of the habit of going for the same colors. I have a lot of blues, purples, and glitter topcoats honestly, and I don’t think I would’ve picked this color on my own!

&&  I’m really starting to get tired of my current nail subscription box Julep. Am I alone on this one, or is anyone else feeling disappointed with their boxes lately?

Here’s what I got in my box:

A full size nail polish in the color “Wicked Wasabi”

In the box was a cute product description card explaining a little bit about the nail polish and a place on the card where you can swatch the product. The card  also had a cute haiku about July’s pick:

“Delicate balance.

spicy, complex, and refined.

can you handle me “

The company is focused on the actually product and not charging you more for over the top packaging. Even though they don’t focus on the packaging, I thought it was cute and to the point.

I like that the nail polish is free of  toluene, formaldehyde/formaldehyde resin, and dibutyl phthalate (DBP). All of those things are really nasty toxic chemicals that should not be in anything you put on your body.

Color Me Monthly is also cruelty free and does not contain any animal products!

The cost of the box is $7 a month- you can also sign up for a 6 month subscription for $40 or a year for $75- making the price of the box a little less. You can sign up for a membership at Colormemonthly.com

I will definitely be subscribing to this box! The company is located in Maryland (not too far away from me!) and I thought the shipping was fast and that the customer service was amazing!

You can also check out Color Me Monthly on Facebook , Instagram, and Twitter!
