This month I ordered the “Bombshell box” from Julep. This is my second box and I’m not going to lie, I came so close to ordering the entire collection! This month I decided that I was only going to buy one add-on and I’m definitely pleased with my entire box!
Update: On a side note before I get into what I got inside my box, last month I got the “It girl” Intro box with a bright yellow Crème nail polish color called “Abbie”. My first reaction after I put it on was vindication that I had finally gotten the perfect neon yellow for summer UNTIL I took it off! My finger nails are still stained French’s mustard yellow. WTF?!? So my advice for anyone uses that polish is to wear a base coat! It’s probably my fault for not putting it on underneath the polish in the first place, but I was so shocked when I took off the polish. I look at my nails in shame now
I got 3 nail polishes (Payton, Raegan, and Bunny), the new julep DD cream (Light) and a couple pieces of salt water taffy! I added the white nail polish “Bunny” for $4.99 with my box.
I’m in love with the colors of this box! Payton is a beautiful Kelly green crème, Raegan is an Electric dark pink Crème and Bunny is a Crisp white linen with fine gold shimmer.
The new DD cream is valued at $36.00 regular price and if you’re a Julep Maven it’s only $28.80
On the julep website it says: “A dynamic do-all makeup that goes beyond BB crème to moisturize, prime, perfect, and protect—both instantly and over time.”
• It has SPF 25
• Anti-aging ingredients that decrease the appearance of pores and fine lines
• Hibiscus and olive extracts for hydrated skin
• Buildable coverage and smooth finish
• Comes in four shades: Light, Medium, Medium-dark, Dark
My total box value was around $78 (full price without the Julep Maven discount)
With the Maven discount this box is worth about $62
The Julep box is a monthly subscription service that is about $20 a month. Every month on the 24th they send you an email with your monthly picks for the upcoming box. If you like what they’ve picked out for you, you don’t have to do anything. You have the chance to skip your box, pick a different box, add items into your box for an additional fee, get the entire collection, or send it to a friend. They Charge you on the 27th of the month and send it out after that.
Pros:
• You can skip the monthly box if you don’t like what’s in the box, want to send it to a friend or if you just want to save your $20+
• The colors are beautiful and you only really need one coat to get the true color of the product.
• Packaging is beautiful
Cons:
- In my first box, one of the nail polishes severely stained my fingers yellow (and they have been stained for about 7-8 days now)
- The products that come in the box are pretty tiny compared to Essie/OPI/Zoya.
